The HUTCHINSON philosophy on how to best serve our customers began to change and evolve a few years ago when we made a company decision to take a green approach to home comfort. We researched all the options available and came to the conclusion that the best way our customers could spend their home improvement dollars would be in cost-effective improvements where there would be reduced energy usage and increased comfort.

Fall 2008 Issue

Home Energy Analysis. It's Fast. It's Easy. It's Free... And it's just plain smart.

HUTCHINSON will conduct a Comprehensive Home Energy Audit, which has 2 phases. The first phase consists of taking inventory of, and reporting on, the current conditions in your home, including the following:

• Heating cost per square foot to determine if your home is Energy efficient, Energy inefficient or an Energy Hog
• Overall comfort level (cold/hot spots, indoor air quality, stuffiness/stale odors)
• Insulation levels
• Heating system efficiency
• Cooling system/central air conditioning efficiency, if applicable
• Hot water system efficiency
• Distribution system (ductwork) condition
• Major appliances
• Lighting

The second phase consists of developing a work scope for the proposed improvements, including a cost and energy savings estimate.

You've been hearing it everywhere. Earth friendly products that will help save the planet’s resources and not harm the environment. Sounds good! That's why we here at HUTCHINSON decided to do our part and become involved in helping to solve this growing problem. This past year, our company went through a rigorous review process and training to become certified by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and New Jersey's Clean Energy Program™.
